Gifts designated to the Annual Fund are used to support important patient programs and services at MedStar Franklin Square, including the care for the uninsured, current needs and new initiatives. Designated Gifts

You may have an interest in supporting a particular hospital program. Perhaps you or a loved one has been a recent patient and you would like to express your appreciation to a special department or recognize the work of a physician. A gift to MedStar Franklin Square can be a fitting tribute that helps the hospital provide quality health care to the community. A contribution may also be made in honor of a loved one as a birthday, anniversary, holiday or special occasion gift. When we receive a tribute gift, we immediately thank the donor and will also inform the individual honored or any person the donor wishes to notify. You may also wish to make a gift in memory of a deceased friend or loved one. By designating MedStar Franklin Square as the beneficiary of memorial gifts in lieu of flowers, family members express their desire to ensure the hospital can continue to provide the highest quality of care to those it serves. Naming Opportunities

Women’s Pavilion
MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center’s “Footprints into the Future” donor wall is a wonderful way to pay tribute to a new baby in your life — whether it’s your child, grandchild or a special new little friend. Commemorate the baby’s birth with a $50 footprint plaque that is inscribed with the child’s name and birth date. Plaques are returned to the donor after being displayed on the donor wall for a period of one year. For more information, contact the Philanthropy Team at 443-777-7980.

Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Cancer Institute
MedStar Franklin Square has designed a Healing Garden in our new Cancer Institute that was designed to give patients and their family members a place for quiet contemplation and a renewed sense of hope and healing. A significant part of the Healing Garden is the “Pathway of Hope” which is lined with bricks inscribed with the names of loved ones lost and those who continue in the fight against cancer. You can recognize, memorialize or honor someone in a meaningful way by purchasing a brick for the Healing Garden’s Pathway. Patient Care Tower
The Entry Plaza of the Patient Care Tower provides an opportunity to recognize, memorialize or honor someone in a meaningful way by purchasing a brick or paver to be permanently placed and displayed for decades to come. Planned Giving

By remembering MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center Foundation in your estate plans, you can leave a meaningful mark on the hospital’s work that spans beyond your years. Deferred giving enables a donor to maximize the beneficial impact to MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and minimize or eliminate the capital gains and/or federal estate taxes on assets. Although MedStar Franklin Square does not receive the gift today, anticipation of a future investment can impact decisions to invest in programs today or on budgetary considerations. Examples of planned gifts include gifts of stocks, bonds, life insurance policies, retirement plans (IRAs), charitable remainder trusts, pooled income funds, gift annuities, endowments and bequests.
