Dr. You is a board-certified surgeon with extensive experience in minimally-invasive bariatric and general surgery, including the daVinci® surgical procedure. Dr. You completed his fellowship in minimally-invasive and weight loss surgery at Sinai Hospital and Northwest Medical Center. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia and the MedStar Union Memorial Hospital Residency Program. A published author and speaker, Dr. You has appeared on multiple radio and television programs discussing weight loss surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and is passionate about educating and supporting his patients to ensure they receive the best possible results. Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgeon
Dr. Meyer completed his medical degree at the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv, Israel and his residency in general surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Meyer specializes in general and bariatric surgery and will join the Surgical and Bariatric Practice at MedStar Franklin Square. He is passionate about educating bariatric patients to achieve optimal outcomes. Dr. Meyer is an active member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons and Fellow of the Southwest Surgical Society. Virginia Andreasik, RN, BSN
Ginny Andreasik, the Coordinator of the Bariatric Institute at MedStar Franklin Square, holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Salisbury State University. She has more than 14 years of nursing experience serving the bariatric population. An active member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, Ginny’s background in bariatric research has resulted in multiple publications in various medical journals. Compassionate, educated and experienced, Ginny’s major priority is to provide each patient with a positive experience and surgical outcome.
Lynne Parry is a Registered Dietitian and a Licensed Dietitian/ Nutritionist in MD. A 1981 graduate of the State University of New York, Plattsburgh with a BS in Foods and Nutrition. She completed a 12 month dietetic internship at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis (now, the Clarian Health Center) in 1982. Lynne completed additional graduate course work from Purdue University and Indiana University – Purdue University in Indianapolis. She has more than 25 years experience working with both bariatric and diabetic inpatients and outpatients. Lynne is a member of the American Dietetic Association, American Association of Diabetes Educators, the Maryland Dietetic Association and Maryland Association of Diabetes Educators.
Kerry Strom is a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Brigham Young University and completed a dietetic internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Kerry began her career in Las Vegas, Nevada and was honored with the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Courtesy Award in 2000. In 2001. Kerry became a Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian. Kerry joined MedStar Franklin Square in 2005, and served as the Council on Professional Issues Chair for the Maryland Dietetic Association (2006-2008). Kerry leads the Track 1 and 2 Bariatric Weight Management education program for potential bariatric surgery candidates.
Amanda Hawver is a registered dietitian and licensed dietitian/nutritionist. She graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition sciences in 2005, and then completed a 12 month dietetic internship through the University of Maryland, College Park. Amanda has been in the field of dietetics for 6 years working in both the acute care setting and the outpatient setting. She is certified in adult and adolescent/childhood weight management and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group.
Holly Herbert is the coordinator of the Bariatric Weight Management Program at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. She holds a Master’s of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Frostburg State University and is an associate member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Holly has been with MedStar Franklin Square since 2005 and leads the Track 1 and 2 Bariatric Weight Management education program for potential bariatric surgery candidates.
